Very excited to share today’s case study since it’s a client I’ve been working with for awhile and we focused on building out their SEO strategy before they officially launched their website.
Here is a 6-month view of their Search data since they launched their website
3-month over 3-month growth
Over the last 3-months, they’ve had a 350% growth in clicks from Google to their website.
And a 328% growth in impressions in the search results
Here is a bit of a back story with Curated: they officially launched their website in August 2021 but we started working together over a year before. Initially, we focused quite deeply on their search persona, making sure the content and keyword we were focusing on targeted their various personas. We also helped me align their website writeframes with SEO best practices and made sure they were positioned correctly in their industry, looking at the competition.
Choosing keywords that were more for the long game was part of the SEO audit and Implementation phase (as part of AIM process). When we transitioned to the Monitor phase, we continued to target keywords we felt were aligned with their audience and strategy.
Since they’ve launched the website, we’ve had a few audits to monitor how people are using the different pages on the website and they’ve made lots of great tweaks to the website because of the UX/UI data we analyzed.
One of the biggest things we’ve been working on is connecting the blog pages to other areas of the website. This is a very common issue where there are some pages we want to rank on the website, but they are completely isolated from the rest of the website. This makes it hard for Google to see the full picture of our website. We’ve been working on this internal linking strategy more actively in the last little bit.
Key Insights
Knowing your keywords and content strategy before launching a website can make a big difference in your search marketing. I get asked this question and the reality is that there are so many areas you can impact including keyword and content, website structure, website design, and user journey.
You can get SEO results pretty much from the beginning. I usually tell my clients they need to wait at least 6-months to 1 year to start getting a return on their Search Marketing, but looking at Curated Wellness, they ranking ramp up was fast. That being said, we are continuing to tweak and improve which pages are ranking and how that connects with their services and products.
Who said that SEO has to be drainings and time-consuming? In the case of Curated Wellness, of course there was a ton of effort put into creating amazing content and a helpful site experience. That being said, with the right strategy, we were able to optimize efforts and not spin our wheels unnecessarily from the beginning. This is what it’s like working with the DBIQ team on your SEO strategy from the beginning.
