Love sharing the work from the Homegrown Traffic SEO Course students!
In this special episode, I spotlight three students who joined the course this year who have started to apply the principles taught in the course on their websites. Since SEO takes time, I like to highlight these short-term wins that are more around website flow and experience.

Something all my students have in common is that they want a simple process to follow when it comes to their SEO so they can start getting results and go back to doing what they love to do in their business.
The first four modules of the course are designed to give you the basic fundamentals of Search Marketing, with a special focus on keyword research + implementation. Everything else is to deepen your learning and support you in other areas where you might get stuck, like consistent blog writing and technical SEO.

Sprinkling branding keywords on your main website pages (Home Page, About Page, etc) can really start to pivot how you rank in Google.
Having a clear About page that really speaks to the needs of your audience and creates an opportunity for connection is important. This is also a great place to share any news or media features, badges or credentials if that is relevant to your industry.
Targeting keywords in your blog content is something she has started to do here and it’s great. Excited to see the traffic results in the coming months!

Featuring your products upfront and center on the Home Page is smart. The key is to not overwhelm your audience but instead give them the opportunity to shop/add things to the cart directly from the first page of their visit.
Including a short bio lower down on the Home Page is also great. Since the Home Page is usually one of the top landing pages, creating that human connection right from the beginning can be powerful!
Using the side menu to add opt-ins is smart. You don’t need to do this on every page but it can be a great compliment especially to blog pages that are more content-heavy.

Including the option to “Book Now” right from the top menu is amazing. You don’t want to include too many things in the top menu but at the same time, you do want to give your visitor enough options for them to get excited about exploring your website.
Each page should have a clear CTA (Call To Action) that is logical with the content on that page. In Stephanie’s case, she gives us the opportunity to sign up for her newsletter at the bottom of her about page and I love it! You can also experiment with different opt-ins and see which one gets the most traction at the bottom of each page.
Also, make sure to include internal links across your entire website. This is a good SEO practice and also gives visitors the opportunity to spend more time on your website, while providing useful and relevant content.
