My journey with PCOS

I’m getting a little personal in this podcast episode and talking a bit about my journey with PCOS (or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome).

I was a bit nervous to share something like this but I felt it was also important to talk about my own story here and why I feel the work I do is important.

Here are some things I share in this episode:

  • Why I felt called to share this with you.

  • The unfeminine side of PCOS and why I felt shame around my body

  • How frustrating it is finding medical doctors who treat you as your disease/organ, instead of a whole human

  • Embracing my chronic illness as part of my identity and life

  • Finding the right medical support (both alopathic and holistic) is about continue to look for doctor’s who you mesh with (don’t settle!) and trusting your gut

  • How holistic medicine (nutritionists, homeopaths, and acupuncturists) helped me work toward my health goals

  • You don’t need to depend on just one doctor - it’s okay to have a team of people who are  supporting you in different ways

  • The internet has changed so much since I was diagnosed with PCOS and now we are able to take ownership of our health in more ways than one. This is one of the reasons I’m inspired to help Therapist and Counselors (as well as other Health and Wellness professionals) get ranked in Google and

  • Getting help and finding the right wellness professional, that actually feel good

  • That’s one of the reasons why SEO is so important to me because the information I’ve gotten from the internet has changed my life.

  • I used to go to the library to find books about PCOS to take ownership on this part of my life and now there is so much information online, different types of information
