Podcasting for Beginners with Chauneice Davis Yeagley / ep153
I can easily say that podcasting changed my business (and life!). Having an opportunity to express and develop our voices (especially when running your business can feel lonely at times) is so empowering and you don’t need to be a tech wiz to get started on your own podcast.
Some of my favourite podcast guest episodes:
Chauneice is a new friend in my life and when I found out her own podcast and how successful she was, I wanted to hear the behind the scenes story.
In this episode we talk about:
How/why she decided to start her podcast
Why it’s okay for your podcast to evolve and shift over time
Step by step how she got started with her podcast
How she did market research on her listeners
How to make a podcast binge worthy
Her behind the scenes marketing for her podcast (and all the tools she uses)

More about Chauneice:
Chauneice Davis Yeagley is a lawyer, writer, & storyteller. She believes it is her life's work to use her voice for social justice. She began her career as an attorney at a global law firm in New York City and spent many hours representing women and people of color in need - whether defending them in custody disputes or helping with applications for asylum, she devoted herself to advocacy of others. Since then, she has only been further motivated to help create social equity in the world.
Chauneice created her podcast American Origin Stories: Black History (Un)told as a way to document her personal journey of self-discovery as a Black American descendant of the enslaved, and as a way to help others sort through the impact that the Atlantic Slave Trade has had on countless families and institutions. Specifically, Chauneice uses narrative accounts and expert insight to unravel the complicated reality of the United States - that it was paradoxically built on both freedom and oppression. But, with the recent shift in the national discussion of race, helmed by the Black Lives Matter movement, Chauneice is hopeful we will make greater strides than ever toward achieving true equality and justice for all.
Chauneice earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, her B.A. in Psychology from Spelman College, and currently resides in Pennsylvania, USA.
